The boat consists of a single piece hull, which is molded into shape unlike the wooden or aluminum boat where pieces might be strung together. Prepared in the specialized environment, the fiberglass building industry does not require any specific skill sets. Molted fiberglass is inserted into the mold and hulls come out nearly perfect. The average time to produce a boat is significantly reduces as a result.
One of the main disadvantages of this fiberglass boat building is that the style has to be pre determined and once the hull is made, the style cannot be changed. There is very little room for a mistake or for later stage customization. If something needs to be changed, the whole plan needs to be changed from square one to incorporate the changes.
